The Patagonian ice field is, after Antarctica, the largest concentration of ice on the planet. Its glaciers descend from 1,500 to 200 metres above sea level enabling unique access and viewing of the glaciers.
Los Glaciares National Park offers a magnificent combination of forest, lakes, mountains, ice fields and steppes with over 200 glaciers. The most renowned being Spegazzini rising 135 meters above sea level, Upsala covering an entire valley with an approximate extension of 765 Km2 and 53 Km in length, and the Perito Moreno Glacier, constantly advancing and causing the spectacular rupture of the wall of ice, providing one of Nature’s most impressive sights.
The Spirit of the Glaciers is an expedition that explores nature in depth to unfold the true essence of this Patagonian region. Sailing on board the elegant and exclusive M/V Santa Cruz, specially designed for this journey, It offers a perfect combination of high-end comfort and gourmet cuisine creating a truly memorable experience.
A night in the National Park
Departure at 6:00 p.m. from Puerto La Soledad, Bahía Tranquila (Paraje Punta Bandera) to Puesto de las Vacas. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast, landing to visit the site of the old settler post and walk to the Spegazzini Glacier viewpoint, navigation to the Spegazzini Glacier.
Lunch and navigation to the Upsala Arm, Upsala Glacier and return to Puerto La Soledad, Bahía Tranquila (Paraje Punta Bandera), disembarking at 4:00 p.m.
Departure at 6:00 p.m. from Puerto La Soledad, Bahía Tranquila (Paraje Punta Bandera) towards Seno Mayo. Dinner and overnight in Bahía Toro.
Breakfast, Landing to visit and walk in the Andean-Patagonian forest, natural landscape and walk to waterfall, flora recognition. Navigation towards the Canal de los Témpanos, bound for the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Disembark at Puerto Perito Moreno, walk along the walkways of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Boarding and navigation along the north face of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Lunch and navigation through the Los Témpanos Channel to return to Puerto La Soledad, Bahía Tranquila (Paraje Punta Bandera), disembarking at 4:00 p.m.
